SEBI's revised nomination framework takes effect 1 September 2026.
Nomination becomes mandatory for new single-holder folios unless the investor opts out in writing.

One statement. Two documents. One of them gets opened only once.
Upload a client's CAS. Get a folio-by-folio nomination check for them — and a printable
file their family can actually follow if the worst happens. Roughly ₹3,452 crore of mutual fund money
sits unclaimed in India, most of it not lost but simply unknown to the people left behind.

It is read inside this page — nothing is uploaded.

Both carry your firm name, ARN and phone number — not ours.
The gap report is for your client. The handover file is for their family.
They read differently on purpose. The first is a working document — folios, status, what to fix.
The second is opened once, by people who are grieving, who have never heard of an RTA and do not
know what their parent owned. That is why it starts with a phone number rather than a total.
Neither is a will. A nominee receives the units; who ultimately owns them is decided by the
person's will or by succession law. The handover file says exactly that, in the open, not in a
footnote — so that no family mistakes a convenience document for a testament.
Nothing here was uploaded. The PDF was opened by this page, read in memory, and the documents
were drawn in this browser. There is no account, no server copy and nothing to delete afterwards —
close the tab and it is gone. The PAN is masked on the printed file on purpose: a document that
lists every folio a family owns AND carries a full PAN is an identity kit, and no registrar needs it
from this page.
Why this exists, and why this month
SEBI's revised nomination framework comes into force on 1 September 2026, superseding every
earlier nomination circular: mandatory nomination for new single-holder folios unless the investor
opts out, up to three nominees, with percentages — and where percentages are not stated, an equal
split with the odd lot going to the first nominee. Six weeks earlier, on 17 July 2026, AMFI
reissued the transmission SOP so that AMCs can accept minor mismatches in a deceased holder's name,
address or signature. That change was made because families were being turned away over typing
errors. Both moves point at the same number: roughly ₹3,452 crore unclaimed in mutual funds,
and ₹2,689 crore more in unclaimed dividends.
