📆 Cash Flows
Add every date-wise transaction. "Investment" = money going into the fund (SIP instalment / lumpsum purchase). "Redemption" = money coming out (dividend / partial or full redemption / current portfolio value if still holding).
💡 End with today's portfolio value as a Redemption row (dated today). Or if you've fully redeemed, use the final redemption date and amount.

XIRR annualises irregular cash flows. Positive = your money grew. Higher horizons and larger cash flows carry more weight in the result.
What is XIRR & when to use it?
XIRR (Extended Internal Rate of Return) is the annualised return on an investment when cash flows happen on irregular dates. Unlike CAGR (which assumes a single start & end), XIRR handles multiple deposits and withdrawals of any size on any date.
Use XIRR for: SIPs, top-ups, partial redemptions, PPF contributions, multiple insurance premium runs, real estate cash flows.
Use CAGR for: a single lumpsum invested once and redeemed once.
The calculator uses the same Newton-Raphson method Excel's =XIRR() function uses — results match Excel to 2 decimal places.
